Leave behind the long-distance traveling, the parking fees, the gallons of expensive gas and the city hustle and bustle. Purchase tickets now for the new Lee's Summit Landmark Entertainment Series at The Pavilion at John Knox Village in Lee's Summit, Mo.
On Nov. 21, the new Landmark Entertainment Series will kick off with a dance featuring Atlantic Express, one of the top dance bands in the nation, composed of four singers, three horns and four rhythm players performing a celebration of soul. Whether performing hits by Aretha or Dusty Springfield, Van Morrison or Stevie Wonder, Atlantic Express will be a crowd-pleaser. The evening also will include an array of delicious hors d'oeuvres and a cash bar for guests to enjoy throughout the evening.
The series will continue with a show on Dec. 9 featuring Christian comedian Kelly Sisney and contemporary Christian band Letting Go, and a New Year's Eve dance showcasing The Steve Miller KC Band. Other artists slated to perform include the country gospel group the Sundowners; a Valentine's Day dance featuring Neon Blue; 38 Special; Terry Davolt and the Outlaw Junkies; a night out with local comedians; America's Got Talent finalists the Duttons from Branson; and a Pavilion-rocking season ender, Diamond Rio.
"We are excited to introduce this lineup of concerts and to utilize our facility even more• to enhance the surrounding community," John Knox Village Facilities/Events Manager Richard Leslie said. "Shows in our first season like 38 Special, Diamond Rio and the Duttons from Branson demonstrate that this series offers a whole new level of entertainment for Eastern Jackson County. We believe this series will attract music lovers from teenagers to older adults."
Rick Viar, president of Summit Bank of Kansas City, said the bank was among the first to sponsor this new series for several reasons. "As a growing bank with a strong community commitment, we feel this is a tremendous opportunity to provide quality entertainment to Lee's Summit. We also value our partnership with John Knox Village and our common goal to deliver a fun and memorable experience."
